First the back story:
I was planning to go home last night and work on boxing up your packages to send out to you today. As I got home, my wife met me at the door all excited and rushed me in the house.
Now, this usually means one of 2 things - she has bought something that she really wants to show me, or she has something inside that has arrived that is for me - but she didn't tell me about it! [img]wink.gif[/img] Well, as it happened, were talking about making the just from standard cable to digitial cable the week before I got laid off as a Christmas present to ourselves. As you can guess, that went immediately down the crapper when I got told I no longer had a job. The money was there, and I was lucky enough to find this new job before the money stopped coming in from the last place. but we didn't know that would be the case at the time
Fast forward a few weeks, and the talk of digital cable had gone away, and wasn't thought about due to looking for new job, finding new job - and new job kicking my ass! (in a good way - having 6 weeks off made my routines off, just getting back into it).
Well, what my wife had done (and this is one of the many reasons I love herwas look back over budget items that we had talked about prior to me getting laid off. It reminded her about Digital cable, and she snuck out yesterday to the cable company to sign up for it and pick up the converter box!
So I spent last night rewiring the entertainment center so we could start watching TV from the digital input. We also spent most of the night trying to figure out how to use that stupid fucking universal remote they included with it! I digress....
That is why your boxes are not going to go out today. Blame my wife for it if you want...but I would have to kick your ass if you do!
They will be packaged up this weekend and will be out to you on Monday. I'll be sending them 2-day with delivery confirmation, so you will have them Wednesday.

Oh yeah - digital cable is SWEEETTTT!! Excellent picture, and the sound is a hell of a lot better than normal analog. But then, everyone knew that...... [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I think the main thing that I like is that I don't have to sit through that damn tvguide channel and wait for al the channel to scroll through for me to find something that is coming up!
That and the deal that my wife got for us was all the movie channels in addition to the digital addition for only $9.99 month more than we are paying now. Atleast for the first 3 months. That atleast gives us a chance to see what stations we really are going to add to our normal watch list and if they are worth the money to add to the bill.
Now I just ned to make that final leap to HDTV. If the quality was such a leap from analog to digital, I can't wait until I am able to do that one. That is going to have to wait until we find a bigger house to hold the TV set we are wanting to get to make that jump though.
HD is insane. im a hockey fan and watching the games in HD makes you wonder how you ever watched them in regular resolution. of coarse most of the time im watching Trading Spaces in HD, which doesnt really mean much....unless its cold on the set!!! *winkwinknudgenudge*
All I am going to say is once I got it up and running last night, I went into the kitchen to cook some food, and all of a sudden my wife starts balsting out laughter with a semi-coherent "You gotta see this!"
I went in, and she was rolling on the couch laughing at that with the HBO package, we were able to pick up HBO Real Sex.
They had a story on the "Real Doll" and she had lost it.
The quality on that was good - I can't imagine how it would have been with HD! [img]wink.gif[/img]

There was a conpiracy against me that force me to upgrade to digital cable. When I left Comcast (got everything for free including PPV & modem) I down graded to "value pack" basic. Basically 27 channels which was fine with me. Red Wing games were on Detroit's channel 50 (which I got) with a few on Fox Sports net (which I also got).
The year I quit Comcast they switched FNS with Canadian CBC. That was okay because channel 50 carried most of the games. However...50 lost the contract to FSN this year! DAMN! I could only get FSN if I went to digital! Fuckers! [img]mad.gif[/img]
What pisses me off even more? There's odd channels I don't get like Nat'l Geographic, Discovery Wings, MTV Spanish and so on. They're spread out all over the line up. I called customer service to ask what's up and they said, "Oh you have Digital Classic sir...you can upgrade to digital deluxe for......*CLICK!*

now granted I have no clue when, or even IF that will ever happen. And the possibility is that even if I do meet you I am going to have forgotten about this - but then telling you that doesn't bode well for me trying to prove a point now does it?
